Redefining Hobbies Original

Redesign Website

The original site served its purpose as a placeholder, but it lacked the "spark" necessary for a social media app. The goal of the redesign was to transform a static, text-heavy landing page into a vibrant, mobile-first experience that reflects the energy of a creative community.

Challenges

Before the redesign, the website faced several UX/UI hurdles:

  • Lack of Personality: The “Before” version used a very generic, corporate grey-and-white palette that didn’t scream “Social Media.”

  • Poor Visual Hierarchy: The text was all similar in weight, making it hard for a user to know where to look first.

  • Weak Social Proof: Stats and features were buried in small text at the bottom.

  • Low Contrast: The white text on dark backgrounds and thin fonts made readability a chore.

Solution & Experience

The “After” version focused on emotional design and clarity.

  • Vibrant Visuals: Swapped the dull grey for a clean white background with pops of purple and lime green to signify creativity and rewards.

  • Device Mockups: Instead of flat screenshots, the redesign uses high-fidelity 3D phone mockups. This allows users to “feel” the app before they even download it.

  • Actionable Copy: Changed “Time to Upgrade…” to a value-driven headline: “Earn Rewards as You Scroll.” It tells the user exactly what’s in it for them.

  • The “Trust Bar”: Added a dedicated section for metrics ($100k+ Rewarded, 1M+ Engagements) to build immediate credibility.

Final thoughts

The redesign successfully shifts the brand from a “project” to a “product.” By emphasizing benefits over features and using a modern design system, the new site is built to convert visitors into active app users. It’s no longer just a website; it’s a high-performing marketing funnel.
